I had a good interview with Dr. Mike Shapeero. He is a professor of accountancy, but before he was a professor he had a CPA which means certified public accountant. During this interview he explains his job in as much detail as he could with the time provided. Dr. Shapeero talked to me about his CPA job and his job as a professor. It was a good interview because he was engaged in our conversation and giving detailed answers. The type of writing that Dr. Mike Shapeero does is called technical writing. This type of writing is when the writer (Dr. Mike Shapeero) takes long complex information and makes it easily read by clients. He also does that for his students. He has to teach them about accounting and I don’t believe a teacher can give a student everything he/she has to learn about accounting in one term. He has to present the class with key notes and he try not to make it extensive because he know how it feels when the teachers gives a lot of notes at once. In his previous job he was the audit reporter, made financial statements, made footnotes for financial statements, and he had to work with the revenue. The purpose of Dr. Mike work when he was CPA was to get the paycheck. But he also enjoy his job because he is good in math and he enjoy being around numbers. If you have interest in your job it’s a higher chance you won’t look at your job as work you would look at it as something you love doing. The purpose for his writing as a CPA is so he can provide his clients with the right information. The purpose for his job as a professor is so the students can get the best education they can. The way he writes have to be a certain way so the students can understand the information that is being given. Overall his purpose for all his writing is to provide people with the information that is needed. Dr. Shapeero audience in his CPA life is his clients and business people. Also he publishes a few pieces of writing on the internet. His audience changes when he publishes writing that’s put up on the internet. People all over the world are his audience. My opinion and I’m sure Dr. Shapeero believes that his students are the most important audience he has. Dr. Shapeero is teaching young people his skill and trying to help them succeeded. If he help at least one person he done his job, and it’s important that he provide information in a way that his students can understand. Dr. Mike Shapeero gets satisfaction out of writing. He feels like he accomplishes something good when his clients are provided with the right information and they can understand it. I said this before but he enjoy his job, so when he has to write a statement or do paper work he will put 100 percent into it. In general he enjoys writing because before he chooses to be an accountant his major was journalism. He was in a field which determines a lot of writing. The article that planted a seed for Dr. Mike Shapeero was called Under Reporting Chargeable Time the author is Sharon Lighter. He saw her speak at his college and he enjoyed listening to her because she is wise. I was surprise because he had the article in his office and he told me that planted a seed for him to be an accountant. It gave him great tips that he use to his advantage. At first it was a seed planted when he read the article, but when years pass and he started accomplishing achievements that seed became a garden.
